Hi, I’m Rick.
I’m someone who loves building things that work, and work well. My passion lies in creating intelligent systems that adapt to real-world uncertainty, whether it’s a robot navigating its environment or a smart interface responding to a user. I care deeply not just about what something does, but how it feels to use, I believe that practicality and beauty can, and should, go hand in hand.
Outside of the lab or the code editor, I spend my time climbing, snowboarding, hiking, and playing chess or piano. I love learning from people, new cultures, new perspectives, new ways of doing things. I’m driven by the idea that you can always find something worth learning in every person.
